Characteristics
W. Nr. 1.6582 is an alloy steel used in applications with high demands on toughness, strength, and hardenability (typically in the automotive industry and mechanical engineering). It is also characterized by increased resistance to temper embrittlement. It is supplied in the quenched and tempered condition with a hardness of 250–300 HB.
Suitability
Highly loaded components in vehicles and engines, such as crankshafts, steering components, transmission parts, drive shafts, eccentric shafts, and gears. It can also be used in the production of tools and moulds.
